Red Bull Air Race New York Brings Thrills To Manhattan Skies

The Red Bull Air Race is taking the city by storm this weekend.

A dozen lightweight high-speed planes flown by the world’s best race pilots will take to the skies over Manhattan this weekend.

The race, which starts in New York Harbor at Liberty State Park, features inflatable gates, which pilots race through just over the water, anywhere from 500 to 1,000 feet.

As the NASCAR heads into the summer months the heat of the championship hunt is getting steamy as well. Kevin Harvick is still on top of the standings but Kyle Busch is closing in with only a 19 point gap between him and that coveted top spot. 24 Hours of Le Mans : Lola Get Set For Le Mans 24 Hours

Today’s Le Mans 24 Hours will see ten Lola designed and built sports cars take the start for the world’s toughest endurance event.

At 14.22pm local time, a modern version of the classic Le Mans start will be re-created where drivers are set to run to their cars to form the dummy grid. At 15.00 the race will begin with 55 cars of 4 different classes battling it out on the famous and challenging 8.72-mile circuit.

Neal Parker : Drag Racer Killed In Horrific Crash

OLD BRIDGE, N.J. — A drag racing driver ran through a containment area at the end of a track and died of head injuries after crashing his alcohol-fueled funny car at a “high rate of speed” during a qualifying round at the NHRA SuperNationals at a New Jersey raceway Friday, state police said.

Neal Parker, 58, of Millville, N.J., crashed at Raceway Park in Old Bridge, state police Sgt. Stephen Jones said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Loyal NASCAR fans who made it through the rain delay, the pothole delay and the long Gillette Fusion ProGlide 500 at Pocono Raceway were treated to Denny Hamlin’s fourth victory of the season, and in the series’ return to TNT, plenty of closing laps and post-race drama.

Some races, the big post-race story would have been that Hamlin’s spectacular victory burnout along the entire length of the front stretch grandstand ended when he crashed into the wall.
