Reggie Bush wouldn’t settle civil lawsuit
When Reggie Bush’s advisers either told him or couldn’t get him to settle the claim by Lloyd Lake and Michael Michaels, for close to what was asked, the cycle that led to the NCAA punishment of USC was set in motion.
Lake and Michaels were looking for compensation after Bush and his family got big money benefits from them while he was in school. In exchange they were to represent Bush as a pro but he stiffed them. He signed with someone else.

USC Sanctions : How Will USC’s Bowl Ban
In the recruiting world, saying something bad about another school is taken to mean you have nothing positive to say about your own.
While that may be true for scare tactics about incompetent or conniving coaches, teams that choke in the big game or campuses with too many plus-sized girls, it’s a legitimate practice when a school has something actually, functionally wrong with it.

Revis has been unhappy with the pace of his contract negotiations.
Coach Rex Ryan said that Revis’ absence last week was “just part of the business.”

Then Steve Sipple wrote an article, released online late last night, that gave even more reason to believe that our conference is on death watch today.

Missouri officials have begun internal discussions about the Big Ten Conference, The Kansas City Star has learned, although MU has not received an offer to join the Big Ten.
An Internet report Monday said the Big Ten has extended initial offers to four schools, including Missouri and Nebraska, to join the conference. But a source long involved in Missouri athletics told The Star that the Big Ten has made no such offer.

Yeardley Love Funeral – Hundreds Pay Respects To Slain Lacrosse Player
BALTIMORE — The life of Yeardley Love was celebrated with song and tears Saturday at a funeral service for the slain University of Virginia women’s lacrosse player.
The 90-minute service was held only a few weeks before Love was to graduate, and at a church located just a few miles from where she excelled as a lacrosse player at Notre Dame Preparatory School.
