NASHVILLE, TN — Second ranked UK Basketball has the inside track to win the SEC East, the top overall seeding in the league’s postseason tournament and a 1 seeding in the NCAA Tournament after a hard fought 58-56 win at 17th ranked Vanderbilt Saturday. It was UK’s first win in Nashville in 5 years.

DeMarcus Cousins led the way for the Wildcats with 19 points and 6 rebounds. John Wall saved the game for Kentucky, blocking a Vandy 3-point game winning try and then getting a steal in the final moments. The game was extremely physical, with many confrontations between players. The Commodores normally excellent outside shooting was ice cold and they eventually it got into foul trouble and were undermanned in the final minutes, letting Kentucky rally for the win.
